Most of the county parks we design include playgrounds. We work with the county’s parks and recreation staff to develop a design that addresses accessibility, durability, visibility, and maintenance concerns while incorporating a style of play equipment that is complimentary to the setting.  Colors are generally selected by county staff. Many parks departments are opting for solid rubber safety surfacing instead of engineered wood fiber. Although it is more costly initially, this material provides consistent accessibility for ADA compliance and generally requires less maintenance.
